A Curated List By Parents, For Parents
Ultimate Family Hotels was created by Alexandra Katte, an American mom of two boys (ages 2 and 1) living in Munich, Germany. As a new mom and an American abroad, I was fascinated when I first discovered the concept of family hotels in Europe—something I had never experienced growing up. These hotels felt like a dream come true, offering everything from childcare services and kids’ activity programs to supervised children’s meals, animal farms, and pools galore. And it wasn’t just about the kids—many also featured sports and wellness facilities, fine dining, and evening entertainment, making them the perfect getaway for the whole family.
But when it came time to book our first family trip, I quickly realized there was no single place to compare and filter the best family-friendly hotels based on their services and amenities. So, I took matters into my own hands and started curating a list in Notion. My mom friends were eager to see it, and in exchange for their expert feedback, I happily shared it with them. Their enthusiasm and suggestions helped me refine the list, and that’s when I knew I had to make it available to all parents searching for the perfect family-friendly hotel.
And so, Ultimate Family Hotels was born—a carefully curated resource designed to help families find their dream vacation with ease.
